Hanoi’s Old Quarter is a vibrant and lively place. I had the pleasure of exploring the charming area towards the last week of 2019. As I wandered through the small and narrow streets, I was captivated by the bustling street markets and the constant stream of motor scooters weaving their way through the crowded roads and alleys. During this period, the streets were even more chaotic as huge crowds of locals and tourists alike descended upon this area and towards the famous Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square for the year end celebrations. Despite the chaos, the festive spirit was palpable, and the atmosphere was electric. Locals gathered to dance, play games, and just enjoy each other’s company. It was a beautiful sight to see people of all ages coming together to share in the simple pleasures of life.
